It is Sunday and it is sunny. It is beautiful. I have a sunburn.
And after my last podcast, I decided the podcast recording has to take place in the morning. Because if not, it might get pushed off until 11:55 or 12:10 am the next day and then I’m not staying in alignment with the promise to myself to record 30 podcasts in 30 days. So here we are, it is Sunday, I am getting ready to go on my first trip since the pandemic, my first trip out of the country. I am leaving on Tuesday and I am going on a breathwork and cacau retreat to Guatemala. And then I’m going to Tulum and then I’m going to Mexico City. And I just added on the last part of my trip where I am going to Playa Del Carmen to stay at a random mansion on the beach. I will explain all of it to you. So my dear friend because Tanya is hosting a breathwork and cacau retreat in Guatemala, and they’ll be there from Tuesday until Saturday. If you’re listening to this, and you’re like Regina, I don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about, or what the fuck you’re doing in Guatemala. I’ll explain.
So something that has been really powerful for me over the past two years, has been doing holotropic breathwork. First of all, breathwork is what it sounds like. It’s breathing in a very intentional way. For whatever your purposes are. So like for me breathwork is something that I have used as a tool because it helps me de-stress. It helps me release things I’m holding on to. It helps me to process. So we as humans are often not breathing properly. We’re not breathing fully. We’re not breathing properly. And whenever I think about it, whenever you’re stressed or anxious. What is the first thing that we often do, we hold our breath and so It has been shown and this is not like some fucking woo bullshit. It has been shown how the connection between deep breathing and stress levels, like how there’s a great connection when you want to de-stress. That’s why I think yoga was really big, it’s still really big, but like, you know, 10 years ago, everyone was like oh my god yoga and meditation for stress, because it’s causing us to slow down and to breathe.
The type of breathwork I do is called holotropic breathwork. There are different patterns of breathing that you can do. But really, what you are doing is you’re breathing in a very intense way, you are oxygenating your body at a really high level. And it helps you work through different energetic blocks that you’re holding on to the inside of your body and in your physical body. So like, think about stress and anxiety, when you start to feel the tension in different parts of your body, you’re holding the stress in those parts of your body, you’re holding the tension. We hold trauma in our bodies, we hold trauma on a cellular level in our bodies, we hold trauma on a physical level in our body. Stress is a form of trauma, right? So breathwork has been something that has really helped me move through a lot of things that I was holding in my body. I realized, while I’ve always been a talker, I haven’t been a communicator. And growing up, we were always talking. But we weren’t always communicating about the traumas and the things that were going on. And because of that, I was really starting to hold a lot of that in my physical body. And discovering breath, my friend Cassandra is the person who really introduced me to breathwork. Discovering breath has helped me really move through and process a lot of shit in my life, and has helped me make headways that I didn’t even know I needed to make. So we’re going for breath and cacau. And so cacau is the purest form of chocolate. Guatemala is a beautiful source for cacau. And cacau is a, we say it as a sacred medicine. It’s something that causes us to really open up when we drink it and sit with it, it really causes us to open up our heart, to open up our heart chakra. And so the combination of opening up with cacau. And then breathing really helps to open and to release. And so these five days in Guatemala are all for me, my intention is opening up to the universe, opening up to God, opening up to the divine plan, because my life is shifting at a rapid pace. And it’s really beautiful. And so my intention is to be open to whatever is coming into my life. And to really, really receive. So that’s my intention. Then I’m going to Tulum, I’m going to be in Tulum from Saturday to Wednesday. Tulum is like fucking vacation mode.
We rented this killer house, we have bikes, we have dinner reservations, and I’ll be working until him in the mornings. But this is my time to be with my girlfriends and to have so much fun. So much fun, I can’t even think about it, because it’s gonna be so stupid fun. And then I’m going to Mexico City for a couple of days because I want to go and experience the art and the culture and the food in Mexico City. And then, the tail end of my trip, Kiki and I are going on a little adventure. There’s this guy who we’re friends with. And he’s just a good dude. And he randomly texted that he rented a big house on the beach, and did we want to come hang out. So it just so happens, it’s at the tail end of our Mexico trip. So we said you know what? We’re coming. So we’re going to go for two days and hang out with him. Be Awesome, and then we will come back to business.
So that’s our big adventure. That’s what we’re getting ready for. And that’s largely what’s happening over here. You know, it’s interesting, going away with my businesses the way they are. I have a team of people that work with me now. And so the lesson right now is learning how to delegate so that I can go on this trip and have a beautiful time and not be stressed the fuck out. So that’s what I’m getting ready for right now. I’m getting my ducks in a row. I’m task-assigning my team things that they can help me with while I’m gone. And I’m just setting the intention that like this is going to be really seamless and it’s going to be easy, and it’s going to be beautiful. All easy, seamless, beautiful, that’s what we’re setting, that’s what we’re doing so just wanted to give you guys a little bit of a life update. I know I’m always popping in and sharing business stuff and spiritual stuff but I wanted to share some of the real things that are going on so I hope you guys have a beautiful Sunday.
